03. How do I get these ebooks on my Kindle?

There are two ways. The simplest way is just to copy them directly to the Kindle. You might find it more helpful to install Calibre and use it to manage all your ebooks.

Use Amazon's Send to Kindle

Amazon have a facility called "Send to Kindle".  It's buried away in their rather unhelpful user interface, but you can get to it here: amazon.co.uk/sendtokindle 

There are a number of ways to get the file onto the Kindle, but the two ways we find easiest are:

1. Drag the file onto the amazon.co.uk/sendtokindle
   1. This will upload to your library
   2. Then you goto Manage Your Content and Devices > Content and click Deliver to Device and chose your device. 
   3. Goto the Kindle, ensure you need to have "airplane" mode off (i.e. connected to the wifi) so that it can download the book.
2. Email the file directly to your Kindle
   1. Firstly, you need to set up your email for each of your Kindles (e.g. on your Phone + Kindle Paperwhite)
   2. Goto Manage your Content and Devices > Devices 
   3. Navigate to your Kindle and edit / set the Email for the device (@kindle.com)
   4. Next, goto Manage your Content and Devices > Preferences 
   5. Scroll down to Personal Document Settings
   6. Scroll down to Approved Personal Document E-mail List (I know... Amazon is like this...!)
   7. Here you Add a new approved e-mail address for each email that you will want to send FROM (i.e. your personal email address).
   8. Once you've done the above, you can then write or forward an email and drag the EPUB as an attachment and it will send directly to your Kindle. 
   9. Goto the Kindle, ensure you need to have "airplane" mode off (i.e. connected to the wifi) so that it can download the book.

Use Calibre

1. Refer to the Calibre Help to download and install the software
2. Download the MOBI format ebooks
3. Unzip the file on your Desktop (either Mac or PC) - it should create a single "awiis_YEAR" folder
4. Fire up Calibre
5. Drag the awiis_YEAR folder that you created and drop it onto Calibre
6. You will see all the ebooks appearing in your Calibre library
7. Attach your Kindle via the supplied USB cable
8. You should see an image of your Kindle appear on the Calibre toolbar
9. Click on the books you want to copy (Ctrl+A or ⌘+A to select all)
10. Click the blue Send To Device icon on the Calibre toolbar
11. Wait for the files to copy
12. Click on the dropdown arrow beside the Kindle icon on the toolbar
13. Click on Eject this device
14. Disconnect the Kindle
15. When it powers up, you should see all the AWiiS ebooks! If not, This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.!
